We've lived in our house for 6 years now and over the years, we've had people let their dogs "go to the bathroom" on our lawn and we weren't able to catch who did it. Out of frustration, I installed a battery powered camera system because I'm not very handy when it comes to wiring cameras, etc. Every time the wind blew, a squirrel ran by or a car drove by, it would start recording. So, needless to say, I got 25-30 different notifications on my phone every day but couldn't catch who was letting their dog...you know....on our lawn. Also, with all the false notifications and videos it recorded, I had to change the batteries out every couple of days. Eventually, I stopped putting batteries in and just left the sign and "fake" camera up and it did not do the trick. Nobody fell for it.
That's when I decided to call Custom Alarm. They came out and installed cameras and a full on security system (complete with water alarms, should a pipe burst, etc.)
Well, I'm happy to say I've finally caught the person. I'm not going to post the video or screen grabs or anything because I've talked with them and they know it was wrong and won't let it happen again. They claimed they didn't have any bags but I know that wasn't true. I also offered to show them the video but they declined. Nothing makes me angrier than when someone doesn't clean up after their dog but I think with my sign and my REAL cameras it will put a stop to it immediately.
So, not only is my family protected by the security system/camera system, but so is my lawn. ;)
